Brand new center to help unemployed opens in Fordham

A brand new 30,000-square-foot facility in Fordham to help Bronx residents looking for jobs has officially opened today.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the building is essentially three centers in one. The Workforce 1 career center was relocated to Fordham from East 149th Street.
The facility will offer free resume and job help for those who are unemployed. The Bronx Business Solutions Center will also provide free help to the borough's small businesses, including special courses and legal assistance.
Fordham University will also use the space to house its free center to help businesses start and expand.
Bloomberg says two other Workforce 1 centers will open in The Bronx in addition to the Fordham location. Hostos Community College will open one this week and another at the New York Public Library Francis Martin Branch, located in University Heights.
