Families of 9/11 victims to watch Guantanamo Bay hearings

Families of the victims who died on Sept. 11 are being invited to military installations across the country to view pretrial hearings in Guantanamo Bay.
The hearings for five men charged with carrying out the worst terrorist attack in American history are being held through Friday this week. Relatives, as well as some survivors, will be able to watch the proceedings on closed circuit TV at Fort Hamilton army base in Brooklyn. Another space there is reserved for first responders.
The hearings will also be shown in New Jersey, Massachusetts and Maryland, and are all closed to the public.
The suspects, including the self-professed mastermind attacks, are expected to appear at the hearings. The actual military tribunal will not start until sometime next year.
