Kensington roller rink demolition begins to make way for DiGilio Playground expansion
The demolition of a decades-old roller hockey rink in Kensington began Monday.
The land under the building will eventually house a new playground -- an expansion of the site's neighboring DiGilio Playground.
The rink had been in place for 30 years. Some residents say they'll miss skating there on weekends, but neighborhood parents say they're glad their kids will have more space to play outdoors.
The playground is expected to be complete in April 2018.
