Ozone Park fire scorches 25 apartments

A fire in south Ozone Park prompted a response from more than 100 firefighters Friday afternoon.

It took crews about an hour to control the blaze at 380 E. 118th St., which was first reported at around 2 p.m.

Twenty-five housing units sustained damage, but no injuries have been reported.

"I got really scared for a second, but I remained calm and got out of the house," says resident Taj Thapa. "Now I'm safe, so I'm good."
