Local shelter helps thousands of abused animals

April marks Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month, and one Brooklyn animal shelter has gone above and beyond to help needy animals.

Brooklyn Animal Care Center helps thousands of abused animals every year.

An example of the Brooklyn Animal Care Center helping abused animals is with a bunny named Buddy. Just a few months ago Buddy was badly wounded and scarred when he was found in the home of a Gowanus woman who had been hoarding rabbits. The shelter stepped in to nurse Buddy and the other bunnies back to health.

Brooklyn Animal Care Center is located at 23-36 Linden Place and provides the same type of care for all the animals that come through the center.

If you ever find an animal in need you can always bring them to the Brooklyn Animal Care Center but are urged to call 311 first.
