Mom: Daughter beaten, robbed at Brooklyn Bridge Park

A 15-year-old Flatbush girl who went to Brooklyn Bridge Park to enjoy the warm weather Wednesday ended up getting beaten and robbed by a mob of other girls.

Things got ugly at Pier 2 on Wednesday, as students across the city were enjoying beautiful weather during spring break.

The assailants knocked her to the ground, kicked her in the head and stole her cellphone, according to the victim's mother Genae Simpson, who showed News 12 video of the attack.

Simpson says her daughter had gone to the park to take part in a public roller skating session for children announced to run from noon to 6 p.m.

The victim called her mother from another person's phone after the assault. Simpson says she rushed her daughter to the hospital with a swollen nose, bruises, headaches and a "slight fracture."

Police confirm that there was an incident at the park, but they say there were no complaints made or injuries reported from the scene.
