Man fatally shot at Flatbush home

A 20-year-old man was fatally shot at his front door in Flatbush Tuesday evening, police say.

Tyler Alphonso's father says that at around 10:45 p.m., there was a knock at the door of their Lott Street home. He says he heard his son go to the door, heard him yell, and then heard around four to five gunshots.

A witness told police the shooter fled in a black 2016 Infiniti. Police tracked down the car about a mile away in front of 256 Winthrop St.

Surveillance video shows a man parking the car, and then walking across the street. On Wednesday morning, the car was still there with police guarding it.

"You need to turn yourself in," says Alphonso's mother. "He did not deserve to be gunned down like he's an animal. He is loved, he is loved."

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS..
