Fundraiser held to support pro-immigrant rally next month

An fundraising event for an upcoming pro-immigrant march was held Saturday night in downtown Brooklyn.

Mixteca, a nonprofit group that helps undocumented immigrants, help put on the event, which raised money for the upcoming La Marcha de Mayo.

According to its website, the march aims to elevate voices that have been marginalized by recent anti-immigrant policies and rhetoric.

The fundraiser included art by immigrant painters, music and food. It was held at Creative Chaos at 28 Jay St.

The march will take place on May 6 from Times Square to Trump Tower.
