BK couple offers fashion classes

A Brooklyn couple is helping others break into the fashion industry.

Wanda Bruno and her husband Esaie first decided to launch Esaie Couture Design School 10 years ago, after Bruno graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Now the school has grown to feature six-month courses such as men's tailoring, ladies' tailoring, dressmaking and garment construction.

Bruno says it's rewarding when someone walks in who has never drawn even a stick figure and then leaves with garments that they've created.

There are classes for professional designers such as the six-month "Launch Your Collection" course, which mentors participants as they design a 10-piece collection.

Esaie Couture Design School also lets people use their industrial machines or cross-stitch machines, which many designers do not have in their own home.
