88-year-old food company in Canarsie provides quality sauces

An 88-year-old food company based in Canarsie provides quality sauces to residents.

Victoria Fine Foods, one of the oldest and largest food companies, has been around since 1929.

While it is no longer a family-based business, plant manager Winston Strachan says that hasn't stopped the company from making sure quality is the top priority.

The company says it cooks 250,000 pounds of sauce every day - the most famous is the marinara sauce.

"It's a lot of secrets behind the sauce. It's cooked and cooked for a long time. It's done in a special way. I'm not supposed to divulge that type of secret," says Strachan.

The company also says that close to 90 percent of their workers live in Brooklyn.
