Burned kitten found in East New York makes superhero recovery

A badly burned kitten found in East New York is being called a superhero for his recovery.

A good Samaritan found the kitten on Liberty Avenue in early March and rushed him to get medical help.

The kitten was taken to Animal Care Centers of New York City before getting transferred to Bluepearl Veterinary Partners, where he has been getting around-the-clock care, courtesy of donations.

The recovery prompted veterinarians to name him after actor Hugh Jackman, who plays the character Wolverine in the "X-Men" film franchise.

Hugh Jackman, the kitten, suffered burns on more than 40 percent of his body, including all four legs, in addition to bone trauma and fur loss.

There is no word on how the kitten suffered his injuries.
