Church takes message of peace to BK streets

Parishioners at God's Battalion of Prayer Church marched through the streets of East Flatbush to spread a message of peace and love.

The pastor says there is violence in the community and he wants to provide an alternative to gangs and other illegal activity for teens by promoting peace.

"We recognize that people are stopping, they're listening, they recognize that prayers are being offered up for them. I presume that they're grateful for what's being done," says Paul Cummings.

The pastor believes walking in the neighborhood and praying will have a powerful impact on people who live there.

The church hopes to make it an annual event and that more parishioners will join in the future.
