Save Our Street talent show takes over P.S. 289
The youth organizing group Save Our Streets held its sixth annual talent show at P.S. 289 Saturday.
The organization works in neighborhoods to help promote the message of stopping gun violence and practicing tolerance. It's a message that young rapper DJ Annie Red believes in.
"I performed 'Boss' and 'Bully,' and they're both positive rap songs," says the performer.
The event also paid tribute to Lavon Walker, a Save our Streets founding member, was fatally shot in Miami. Friends and family say he always wanted that kind of violence to stop.
