Tree falls on tracks at Parkside Avenue train station

Wednesday's blustery weather likely caused a tree to fall on the tracks at the Parkside Avenue train station in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, stalling the evening commute for many straphangers.

An MTA worker says the tree fell just before 3 p.m. on tracks that carry the Q train locally and B train express. It stranded some commuters and forced others to come up with alternate travel plans.

Crews were working for hours to clear the debris.

The incident resulted in a multitude of service changes and disruptions throughout the evening.
