Popular pub reopens after February fire

A Brooklyn pub was able to reopen in time for St. Patrick's Day after a fire on Valentine's Day shut it down for just over a month.

The owner of Putnam's Pub and Cooker, Gerry Rooney, says that hard work and dedication were the main ingredients to getting their location back open so quickly.

Some of the bar's customers also came together to help it reopen. They put together a GoFundMe page for the pub's staff while they were waiting for their location to reopen.

"I've been doing this kind of work for, like, 15 years and I've never worked anywhere where they did something like for the staff," Rooney says. "It was incredible."

Rooney says they also received flowers, gifts and other well wishes to get through their tough times.
