BK man brews, distributes chai tea throughout borough
A Greenpoint resident is churning out gallons of chai tea weekly and distributing it across Brooklyn.
Martin Fitzpatrick, owner of Chai Mookie, is brewing up vats of spicy chai tea inside his Greenpoint kitchen.
His tea is a blend of six spices, and he churns out around 30 gallons for the week in just one day.
"Let that steep for about 20 minutes to 45 minutes depending on the size of the batch and then I add the Tea the sweetener let that steep as well; strain it out and then I bottle each of the bottles individually," says Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick says the tea is then delivered all over Brooklyn, including Kensington, Ditmas Park, East New York and several other neighborhoods.
The tea is packed into tiny packages that can be enjoyed at home by just adding hot water or milk.
Fitzpatrick's teas are also featured at cafes and coffee shops in Brooklyn, including Daily Press in Bed Stuy.
