Family of slain EMT presented with $100K donation

A foundation is stepping up to help support the family of a slain Bronx EMT.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation presented the family of Yadira Arroyo with a donation of $100,000 Saturday.

As News 12 reported, Arroyo was killed on the job on March 16 when police say Jose Gonzalez stole an ambulance from her and her partner and ran them over with it.

The incident happened at the corner of White Plains Road and Watson Avenue.

Gonzalez is facing murder charges.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation was created in memory of Brooklyn firefighter Stephen Siller, who lost his life after running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel with his gear on Sept. 11, 2001 to try and save people in the World Trade Center.

The organization is dedicated to supporting first responders and their families.
