Icy sidewalks plague pedestrians after winter storm
Brooklyn residents continued dealing with icy sidewalks Thursday in the wake of Tuesday's late-winter storm.
The lingering slushy mess left on the ground quickly turned to ice when temperatures dropped as the storm moved out of the area.
Pedestrians in Canarsie said they have been resorting to walking in the streets, which can prove to be dangerous.
A FreshDirect truck driver said the piles of snow and ice have made it difficult to carry out his daily deliveries.
This weekend is expected to be slightly warmer, with temperatures hitting the low 40s.
