Police seek 5 in Flatbush assault, robbery

Police are searching for five men wanted in connection with a gang assault and robbery at a Flatbush fast-food joint.

The incident occurred March 1 at the Texas Chicken and Burgers restaurant on Ocean Avenue.

Police say a fight erupted around 7:30 p.m. after the victim offered to help two of the suspects pay for their meal. They say the victim offered to pay for it because one of the suspects asked people in the restaurant for money.

Surveillance video shows the dispute escalating to a physical fight and two more joining the fray, kicking the victim in the head and body as he struggles to defend himself.

Police say another suspect appears to attempt to remove the victim's property.

The victim was taken to the hospital with broken bones and other injuries.

Police ask anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
