Bus service expected to be OK before Wed. commute

Facing weather-related delays, the city's buses were running at a 30 percent reduction Tuesday evening, Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

Those that were out and about sported tire chains to help keep traction in the slush, ice and snow.

Some city officials had floated the idea of suspending bus service altogether earlier in the day, but the closures never materialized.

Still, MTA officials said riders should expect many delays and detours.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said residents could expect bus service to return to normal at 5 a.m. Wednesday.
