Bitter wind chills remain after storm

Strong winds continued to blow a wintry mix around the borough Tuesday after actual precipitation stopped.

Rather than the higher snow totals predicted before the storm, residents had to deal with slush, sleet and ice.

Gusts as strong as 40 mph could continue to blow into the evening, according to forecasts. They will weaken slightly Wednesday, but wind chills are expected to remain near or below zero until climbing into the 20s Thursday.

The weather made it difficult to travel in parts of Park Slope, especially against the wind.

On the bright side, spring starts next week.
