Driver smashes into parked car in East New York

A driver crashed into a parked car in East New York Tuesday after losing control in the snow and sleet.



News 12 arrived on the scene around 7 a.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue to find one woman inside of the car, which had its airbags deployed. Police were not yet on scene and injuries were not known at the time. 



Despite warnings to stay home during the snowstorm, many drivers fueled up at gas stations in the borough. One man said he witnessed several accidents. 



The National Weather Service canceled an ealier blizzard warning as the storm tracked further west. 



Temperatures are expected to drop into the upper-teens overnight as lingering strong winds being the chill factor into the single digits.



Similar temperatures are expected Wednesday.
