Brooklyn residents stock up on food before snowstorm

Brooklyn residents made sure they were prepared for Tuesday's snowstorm by stocking up on food from local grocery stores.

The owners of the Golden Mango supermarket in Canarsie said they opened at 7 a.m. Monday and had more than 15,000 customers visit their store throughout the day.

People stocked up on items like water, milk and meat, as well as extra salt for sidewalks.

The owners said they usually see similar types of crowds right before Thanksgiving and Christmas.
