DSNY crews keep roads clear amid winter weather

Sanitation workers in the borough are keeping the streets clear amid Friday's winter weather.

Snow began falling around 7 a.m., and according to News 12 meteorologists, is only expected to leave behind a coating of 1-2 inches.

However, DSNY officials aren't taking any chances, saying the snow will create slushy conditions.

One worker offered up some advice, suggesting people take it slow on the roads and give themselves some extra time.

Snow is expected to taper off by the late afternoon.
