Wind, rain impact commuters, trains
Wind and rain swept through the borough Tuesday, and the wet weather is expected to remain until midday Wednesday.
The abundance of recent rain also means roads can flood more easily, complicating commutes. Drivers are urged to proceed carefully, as potholes can be hidden within puddles.
Wind gusts reached up to 35 mph, with temperatures lingering in the mid-50s, according to News 12 meteorologists. At the Rockaway Parkway train station, heavy rain and strong winds hassled people trying to head home from work.
Some travelers reported train and bus delays.
Wednesday will see more showers and patches of fog, with highs peaking in the mid-60s, according to News 12 meteorologists.
The sun will begin to come out Thursday, with temperatures in the 70s until Saturday, when they may climb into the 80s.
Rain and thunderstorms are expected Sunday.
