NYPD officer faces vehicular manslaughter charge
A New York Police Department officer is facing vehicular manslaughter and other charges today after he rear-ended a car on the Van Wyck Expressway killing a 22-year-old woman.
The accident happened Sunday morning. Police say 32-year-old Officer Neville Smith refused to take a Breathalyzer test at the scene and is also facing DWI charges. 
A 20-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were also injured in the collision. Police say both of them suffered traumatic injuries throughout their bodies.
