Drivers give new Kosciuszko Bridge mixed reviews
Brooklyn residents are giving the new Kosciuszko Bridge some mixed reviews three days after it opened to drivers.
On Thursday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo opened the first phase of the new bridge, which will carry about 200,000 commuters between Queens and Brooklyn every day.
News 12 spoke with several drivers who are happy with the new bridge, saying it is much better than its 78-year-old predecessor, which was covered in potholes.
Other drivers told News 12 the traffic backup by the new bridge is still a nightmare.
Officials say traffic relief is on the way with several more lanes expected to be added to the bridge on the second phase, which is expected to be completed in 2020.
