Boogie Down Bites: Jerk House
A family owned Jamaican restaurant is bringing some fire to the Bronx.
Jerk House Caribbean Restaurant on White Plains Road in Wakefield opened in December.
Owner Sideon Stewart, more commonly known as 'Jerk Chicken Jackie, paired up with her culinary-school-trained cousin to create flavorful dishes like jerk chicken and escabeche fish.
Stewart says she relies heavily on all of her family - who staff the entire restaurant.
She says she also works three days a week as a nurse.
