Police: Teen attacked, robbed after man followed her home

A 16-year-old girl was attacked and robbed after a man followed her from the subway station to her home in Crown Heights, police say.
The incident happened on May 3, near Franklin Avenue and Carroll Street around 10:35 p.m.
Police say the suspect followed the teen and her 2-year-old brother from the Franklin Avenue station to the teen's home just three blocks away. 
According to police, the suspect struck up a conversation with the teen before forcing his way inside the apartment and punching her in the face and choking her. 
He grabbed the 16-year-old's cellphone and laptop before running off.
The teen was transported to Kings County Hospital in serious but stable condition with cuts to her face and neck. Her 2-year-old brother was not injured.  
Police describe the man as being in his 30s and 5'5" to 5'7" tall. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat with a 'Superman' logo, a black jacket with yellow piping on its arms and grey sweatpants.
