Deep freeze sets in with frigid wind chills

NORWALK -

Dangerously cold temperatures are setting in across western Connecticut to start the week, and gusty winds are worsening the bitter blast.

Wind advisories and wind chill advisories were issued for the area through Monday.

News 12 meteorologists say frigid overnight temps with lows in the single digits will feel colder with wind chills 0 to -10. Any standing water in the wake of the weekend storm will freeze over, so use extreme caution on the roads into Monday morning. Gusty winds will be NW at 20-30 mph with higher gusts possible.
