Best of the Bronx: High school senior awarded for documentary film
A Preston High School senior's documentary film project about Collis P. Huntington homestead has been awarded by the New York State Archives.
Bronx resident Kaycie Santiago has been working on the documentary since her freshman year, a four-year project in the making.
She first became inspired by the history of her school after taking a history course.
She was also awarded the certificate of honorable mention from the New York State Archives for her submission.
Santiago's documentary will be privately screened at the Huntington Free Library on May 21 at 3 p.m. Anyone who'd like to attend must RSVP by emailing her at Santiagok2017@prestonhs.org.
