BAY RIDGE -

Police are seeking three suspects wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery that left one person injured.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Seventh Avenue and 72nd Street.

Police say a 24-year-old woman opened her door to three men who grabbed her by the throat, pointed a gun at her stomach and demanded cash. When the woman's friend tried to intervene, authorities say the suspects cut him in the face, head and neck.

Sources tell News 12 that the incident does not appear to be random, and that the woman actually knew her attackers. Investigators say she sold cosmetics online and the men were expected to buy some of her products.

The suspects did not make off with any cash or possessions.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
