Man says packages were stolen from front porch

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT -

A Bedford-Stuyvesant man is asking for the public's help in identifying the man who stole a package from his front porch.

Serge Vatel says a surveillance camera around his home captured a man walking up to his front steps, taking a box and walking away.

Vatel says the box contained a $600 dress for his wife as a Mother's Day gift. It happened on May 10.

The homeowner says this is not the first time this has happened.  Packages have been stolen from his front porch last Christmas and this past Valentine's Day.

Police tell News 12 they are looking into the robberies.  They say it does not appear to be a part of a pattern in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
