Flatbush Junction BID talks to community about proposed plaza

Posted: Updated:
FLATBUSH -

Members of the Flatbush Junction Business Improvement District (BID) say a proposal for a Hillel Place Plaza is generating strong community support in Flatbush.

The city's Department of Transportation and the BID asked residents for their opinions on making streets safer, design input and traffic flow.

Officials at the two organizations say that the proposed plaza would help reduce crime and be a big boost for the local economy.

Brooklyn students say they're excited about possibly having a safe space to hang out between classes.

Those involved in the project say they're aiming to make progress by September 2017.
