Police are searching for a group of men they say stole more than $800,000 as well as jewelry from a Court Street jeweler.
Police say the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
They say the men, dressed as construction workers, entered the store located at 60 Court St. and pulled out a gun.
According to officials, while the robbery was going on, one of the men stood outside holding up a sign indicating “men at work.”
Inside the store, the men apparently attacked a 67-year-old man and then took jewelry, gold and about $800,000 before running northbound on Court Street. The men were last seen running into the Borough Hall subway station, according to police.
The 67-year-old man was taken to the hospital to be treated for a laceration to his head. He is expected to be OK.
Police are searching for the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
