A 17-year-old student at New Utrecht High School in Bensonhurst is under arrest for allegedly bringing a gun to school.
According to the Daily News, someone saw the boy with the gun inside the school and alerted the principal.
When confronted, the boy handed the gun over without a problem, school officials say.
A spokesperson for the Department of Education says they are investigating the incident.
New Utrecht High School does not have metal detectors.
