Two firefighters were hospitalized and several people were displaced Tuesday after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Fort Greene.

The fire started around 2:30 p.m. and was put out with the work of about 100 firefighters, News 12 is told.

The blaze started on the top floor of the home and spread, affecting four apartments on the top two floors and displacing several people.

Due to the extreme heat, three firefighters suffered heat exhaustion. Two of them were hospitalized.
