No one injured in two-alarm fire at Manhattan Beach home
No residents or firefighters were injured after an early morning fire tore through the second floor of a Manhattan Beach home.
The fire occurred on a residential block at 125 Norfolk St. at around 2:30 a.m. Monday.
Officials say the family in the home was asleep when the fire broke out, but they were alerted to the threat by their neighbor, Sol Mizrahi, who rung their doorbell. Mizrahi says he heard noises from the fire and tried yelling to the family before going to their door.
David Vilenskiy, 12, says his neighbor's quick thinking saved his family as the fire began to grow.
The blaze ultimately destroyed their backyard and the second floor of the home.
The family's mother says she and her kids safely evacuated the house, and are now staying with another neighbor.
