Protesters took to the steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall Friday afternoon to decry the Trump administration's travel ban affecting people from six Muslim-majority countries.
Protester Zaid Nagi says that with President Donald Trump in office, he's unsure if he'll ever see his mother again. She lives in Jordan and does not have a United States visa.
The Trump administration rolled out new rules for its ban, which went into effect Thursday night. It states that citizens of six countries will be denied visas unless they can prove a close family relationship or connection with a school or business. Protesters Friday called the policy inhumane, immoral and irresponsible.
Jean Anderson, of Flatbush, says she stopped by the protest to support her Muslim friends. She says that without immigrants there'd be no America.
