Police are asking for the public's help finding a woman who allegedly slashed a man in the face in Weeksville.

Officials say a 56-year-old man sitting in the driver's seat of a 2015 Chevy sedan was slashed on the left side of his face by a woman sitting in the back seat.

The incident happened just after 12:30 p.m. on Friday in front of 1362 Herkimer St.

Officials say the woman took the man's wallet and an unknown amount of cash after the slashing and fled the scene.

The man was taken to Brookdale Hospital with a severe laceration and is expected to be OK. He says he did not know the suspect.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and 150 pounds. Officials say she was last seen wearing a black dress and possibly a dark colored wig.
