The competitive eaters who will gobble down hot dogs this Fourth of July in Coney Island weighed in Monday.
Joey Chestnut, the reigning hot dog-eating champion, joined other contestants at the ceremony. He weighed in at 220 pounds.
Miki Sudo, the three-time winning women’s champion, says she weighs 126 pounds. She was able to eat 38 1/2 hot dogs in 10 minutes last year. She says she's been practicing with a friend.
"We'll just cook up 10 minutes worth of hot dogs and go at it," Sudo says. "We'll mimic contest conditions as closely as possible and just do our best."
The Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
