A lifelong Canarsie showcased his alter ego on national television last night.
Jason Prager’s appearance on “The Gong Show” aired Thursday night, where he was “Geek M.C. Squared.”
"I'm a geek, I'm a body builder, I'm a rapper and it's kind of a parody act,” says Prager. “It's meant to make fun of other acts."
Prager says he was watching TV in February when he learned of the call for “The Gong Show” contestants. Two days later, he received a call from the casting department, and by May Prager flew out to Los Angeles for his appearance on the ABC show.
He had been working on the character for years and says putting it in front of a large audience was surreal.
“It's different doing it at home versus doing it on a real Hollywood soundstage,” says Prager. “You're like ‘this is real.’ I still couldn't believe this is happening!”
The episode with Prager’s performance is re-airing Monday night.
