A Brooklyn fashion designer is taking on a toilet paper wedding dress contest for the third time in hopes of winning $10,000 and a vacation.
"The [fashion] industry is a very competitive field,” says Van Tran. “Start entering small contests, and you never know where it could take you."
Van Tran tells News 12 the contest was created three years ago by the wedding website CheapChicWeddings.com.
The contest’s participants are required to design wedding dresses made from toilet paper with materials like duct tape and glue.
Van Tran says she made the top 15 the first year and then won last year.
She says she has made the top five thus far and is gearing up for the finals, a live fashion show in New York City sponsored by the website.
