BATH BEACH -

A community in Bath Beach is coming together to search for a missing 88-year-old woman who hasn't been seen in days.

Mary-Joyce Bonsignore was last seen in front of her home on 19th Avenue around 8:30 a.m. on July 17.

Her family says she has dementia and are worried about her safety during the intense heat wave.

"I'm hoping that she is alive and well and tucked in somewhere that we are just not looking," says the missing woman's daughter, Marie Mason.

Bonsignore is around 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 pounds and has blue eyes and white hair. When she was last seen, she was wearing a straw hat, blue pants, a red and white shirt, brown slippers and a silver identification bracelet.

Police and Bonsignore's family are asking anyone with information about where she is to call police.
