Residents say they are concerned about hit-and-runs, crashes and speeding cars along a stretch of Avenue T in Gravesend.
They say the problem is that when driving down Avenue T, after the light at Stillwell Avenue, there isn’t another light until West 10th and 11th streets, causing many motorists to speed up.
News 12 found Aurelo Tello tending to her cousin's memorial. Alejandro Tello, 18, was riding his skateboard recently when he was struck and killed at West 10th Street and Avenue T. She says she'd like to see a light or speed bump at West 13th and West 12th streets.
According to the city Department of Transportation, an all-way stop at West 13th Street was already denied in December and a traffic signal at West 12th Street was denied in June. But a spokesperson says the DOT will re-evaluate the location after 36 months at the community's request.
