Midwood woman creates skin-soothing candle business

MIDWOOD -

A Midwood woman has started her own natural candle business, which helps individuals with skin problems.

Natasha Faublas founded Brooklyn Essence after her 8-year-old daughter was diagnosed with eczema, a disease that that made her skin burn and break out.

The Brooklyn mother tried over-the-counter remedies, but couldn't find a cure. She then researched, experimented and created the candle business.

Faublas’ daughter has now been eczema-free for two years and they credit the candle body wax.

"She lights up the candle and she puts it on my body," said Natasha's daughter, Analese Palanquet. "And then I do that every day and then it goes away."

Faublas says all of her candles have been tested by dermatologists and are made right inside her converted-garage boutique.
