Flatbush rally condemns hate groups
Brooklyn residents, officials and other leaders rallied in support of civil rights and equality Monday evening, condemning white supremacy, neo-Nazis and other forms of hate in response to a violent far-right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia nearly two weeks ago.
They say they're appalled by the violence and how President Donald Trump reacted to the events.
Many say they can't believe that 150 years after the Civil War, more than 70 years after World War II and the Holocaust, and 50 years after the height of the Civil Rights Movement we are still seeing Nazis and members of the Ku Klux Klan parading through the streets.
Participants of diverse races and backgrounds say they rallied to take a stand and unite as an inclusive and open community.
