The FDNY is offering fire safety tips after two separate house fires killed three people in Brooklyn.
The first fire happened Saturday at a home in Bay Ridge and left one person dead.
The second fire broke out inside a home in Borough Park Monday and killed a 61-year-old man and his 59-year-old wife, and injured several others.
Fire officials say the home in Borough Park did not have smoke detectors installed inside of it.
They are urging residents to have an escape plan in case a fire breaks out inside their homes.
Fire officials recommend having both a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and to change the batteries at least once a year.
They also suggest installing the units where you sleep.
