3 shot, 1 fatally, near West Indian parade route

BROOKLYN -

A 49-year-old man died and two others were injured after a series of shootings in Brooklyn, police say.

Two people were shot in Crown Heights Monday just hours before the J'Ouvert festival. There was no word on their conditions.

The fatal shooting happened Sunday outside 50 Herkimer Place just after 8:30 p.m.

Police say they found the 49-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head.

He was transported to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made and police did not say if the two incidents were connected.
