Tenants are outraged after the owners of Starrett City announced they are selling the East New York affordable housing development.
Owners of the buildings reportedly are selling the development for $850 million. President Donald Trump is a partial owner of the complex.
Those who live in the apartments say they didn't find out until a letter was slipped under their door. They say they didn't receive any phone calls, emails or any other form of communication.
Long-time tenants are now concerned about where they will be able to live.
"If they sell this and it's not affordable, what happens to me and others like me?" asks 66-year-old Starrett City tenant Marcia Coleman.
The owner of the development says that by law, all apartments in the complex will remain affordable at least until 2039.
The building's owner says there will be a meeting with tenants next week to brief everyone on the latest updates.
